Placing an order

This guide is for retailers (stockists). When you sign into your label's portal you land on The Collection — the full catalogue at your own trade prices.

Browsing the collection

Every style shows its photography, name and your from price. Styles you've ordered before appear under Order again for quick reordering. Opening a style launches the configurator.

Building the order

The configurator is where you make the gown to order:

Reserving a style before the size is final

Bride's chosen the gown but the size isn't settled — a fitting to come, a dress-size in flux? On a bride order you can choose Size to be confirmed later in the basket instead of Sizes are final. Order with the size you expect, and give a date you'll confirm the final size by.

The studio confirms the order and commits the fabric, but cutting is held until you confirm. When you're ready, open the order in My Orders and press Confirm final sizes — the lines are re-priced at the final size (larger sizes can carry a surcharge), the studio is told, and the factory gets the updated spec.

Fit finder

Enter the bride's bust and waist (hip is optional) and press Recommend size. With all three the portal recommends a size, a split size where the measurements span sizes, or made to measure if she is outside the chart. With bust and waist only it recommends the larger of the two — useful for A-line styles where the skirt size doesn't matter. Made to measure comes as 2 measurements, 3 measurements, or 3 measurements with Calico (a calico toile for a new pattern).

Size and colour are required

A gown can't be added to the order until you've chosen its size and, where the style comes in more than one colour, its colour — the configurator says so under the Add button. "As per sample" in the notes is no longer needed; if the colour you want isn't listed, message the studio before ordering.

Special requests and notes

Each gown has its own Special requests box in the configurator, so a request stays with the gown it's about — on an order with two gowns, each carries its own. You can still read and edit them on the order page before you submit, where there's also a box for notes for the whole order.

The free-text notes you add — special requests, a pattern-change note — go to the studio, not straight to the factory. The studio checks (and, if it's chargeable, prices) anything you've asked for before relaying it, so you may hear back with a question or an updated price.

Sample dresses

Sample orders have their own report: Samples in your portal lists every sample you've ordered or hold, flattened by style, so stocking the shop floor for a new season is one view rather than a trawl through past orders. See Sample dresses.

Borrowing a sample

Need a gown for a bride's try-on, or a box of styles for a trunk show, without buying them? Loans in your portal lets you request the styles and sizes the label holds as loan stock, for a date window of up to 28 days. Choose whether it's a bride try-on (charged per dress) or a designer weekend / trunk show (charged per box), pick the samples and dates, and send the request. The studio approves it, sends the samples, and you'll be reminded a week before they're due back. See Sample loans.

Messages and announcements

• Messages in your portal is your conversation with the studio for anything that isn't about one order — questions about a specific gown go on that order's own thread.
• Announcements from the label — a price change, a new colourway — arrive in your bell and by email.
