Pricing & terms
How the trade pricing engine computes every order — per-retailer discounts, VAT, size surcharges and option charges.
Labels.io has a single pricing engine that is the source of truth for every order. The rules that used to live in a spreadsheet now run the portal, applied the same way every time.
What goes into a price
For each order line, the engine combines:
- Base size price — from the style's per-size matrix
- Option charges — every made-to-order choice the retailer selected
- Size surcharges — larger sizes can carry a percentage or fixed uplift
- Per-retailer discount — each stockist's trade discount
- VAT — at the retailer's VAT treatment
- Delivery — the chosen lead-time band's charge, applied once per order
Computed server-side, to the penny
The configurator shows a live estimate as the retailer builds the order, but the authoritative total is recomputed on the server at submission from your current price lists — so a retailer can never submit a stale or edited price.
Per-retailer terms
Every stockist has their own terms, set when you invite them and editable any time under Studio → Retailers:
- Discount % — their trade discount off list
- VAT treatment — inclusive or ex-VAT
- Payment terms & deposit — used when invoices are raised
Because each retailer sees only their own terms, two boutiques ordering the same gown see two different prices — automatically.
Changing prices
Edit a style's size matrix or an option charge and the change takes effect immediately, across every retailer, on their next order. Historic orders keep the price they were placed at.
